Ear, Nose & Throat
Brisbane Waters Private Hospital offers surgery for Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT).
Otolaryngologists are physicians trained in the medical and surgical management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck. They are commonly referred to as ENT physicians.
Their special skills include diagnosing and managing diseases of the sinuses, larynx (voice box), oral cavity, and upper pharynx (mouth and throat), as well as structures of the neck and face. Otolaryngologists diagnose, treat, and manage specialty-specific disorders as well as many primary care problems in both children and adults.
Brisbane Waters Private Hospital’s “Caring for Kids” is a program created for our smallest patients & and their families who are under the care of Dr Shashi Singh – Ear Nose and Throat surgeon. Dr Singh also specialises in Paediatric ENT disorders including treatment of tonsillitis, sleep apnoea, deafness and ear infections, hayfever and sinus disease.
Our "Caring for Kids" project is committed to making what can be a frightening anxious time into something so welcoming and friendly. Children admitted to Brisbane Water Private Hospital not only experience a warm, personal and professional stay but have an interactive “special” children’s admission. Often first time visitors to the hospital we want to ensure the memory is pleasant and as anxious free as possible for the child and their family. All team members from Reception, Nursing, Theatre and Catering participate in the day, by dressing up to ensure the “magic” is not lost along the way and to reassure the child and family of what to expect.
The interactive program commences with admission where our large range of Teddy Bears sitting at reception greet the children on arrival. Once admitted the child chooses a bear to keep them company through out their stay and to take home the following day. Private rooms are individually named & decorated to suit each child, whether it is rainbows, unicorns, spacemen or dinosaurs. Super heroes and princess posters adorn the walls and team members dressed up as lady bugs & bees create an atmosphere of friendliness and warmth.
Free meals are provided for the parents staying overnight with their children while our littlest patients can enjoy a never ending supply of ice cream, jelly, & zooper doopers in every possible flavor.
Bravery awards are given & photos are taken so our star patients can show family and friends what it was like to be a patient in hospital.
