Dr Glenn Hawken is a locally appointed Gastroenterologist, who has advanced experience and training in both Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy. He performs an average of >700 endoscopic procedures per year, well exceeding numbers required to meet GESA standards. He is adept in advanced colonoscopy and polyp removal techniques, with experience in removing difficult polyps that would otherwise required colorectal surgery.

Dr Hawken’s rooms are located at the Central Coast Specialist Centre which is a privately run facility on Holden Street, Gosford. He has ½ hour appointments for all new patients and all patients are bulk billed. He has regular public endoscopy lists at both Gosford and Wyong hospitals, and private lists at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital. All private patients are no-gap billed for their procedures by both Dr Hawken and his anaesthetist.

Dr Hawken graduated from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He spent time working in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand Health systems, prior to moving to Australia in 2002. He trained at Westmead hospital and finally as a senior fellow at Gosford Hospital. He and his wife Kate and children Max and Elley have lived on the Central Coast for the past 4 years. He provides a much needed oncall Gastroenterology service for the public hospitals on a 1 in 4 basis, and your support for his private practice would be much appreciated.

In addition to specialising in endoscopic procedures, Dr Hawken also has expertise in the areas of general Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Bowel Cancer Screening and Hepatitis B/C treatment. He is happy to accept direct fax referrals for endoscopy for privately insured patients to the numbers below.
