Caring for Kids
Brisbane Waters Private Hospital’s “Caring for Kids” program is an interactive admission and patient experience for our littlest patients and their families who are under the care of a range of specialists at the hospital.
A positive first experience
At Brisbane Waters Private Hospital this is our primary goal and one of the reasons why the 'Paediatric Jungle Safari Experience' was created. We know that our littlest patients often visit us for some of our most common procedures from tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, grommet insertions, circumcisions, plastic surgery and dental through to hernia repairs. While these are standard procedures for most patients, its a big experience for little people, which is why a program has been developed to transform our clinical setting into an inviting, fun, interactive and memorable environment.
Jungle Safari Experience
Our paediatric Jungle Safari Experience starts with admission and continues throughout your stay through to discharge. Upon arrival, our pint size patients are given a ticket to their very own Jungle Safari tour which includes a welcome pack back pack, safari hat, binoculars, map and keys to a safari jeep. They are challenged to find an array of hidden animals throughout the ward hallways from Buffalos to Giraffes, Monkeys, Parrots, Zebras and Tigers and to mark off each animal they find along the way.
Once they arrive at theatres, they'll find a sign with their name on it and may even discover an animal or two waiting for them in the operating theatres.
Following their procedure, our Paediatric patients will be brought to their very own personally decorated room full of animals, a welcome sign and night light that projects stars around the room and for those staying overnight, their bed sheets are replaced with jungle bed sheets that they can take with them when they leave.
It doesn't end there, with the menu transformed into a jungle theme including a never ending supply of ice cream, custard, zooper doopers and a range of fun meal options. Parents don't go hungry at our hospital, with complimentary meals are provided to the parents staying overnight with their children.
When our pint sized but brave safari patients are ready to go home, they'll receive a bravery award to thank them for being part of our Jungle Safari Experience.
